Description Here, in the prairie, is a colorful fall display of late season flowers. Mums, Asters, Daisys, Goldenrod and Queen Anne's Lace create a delicate, lacey pattern of shapes and colors which is distictively Autumn. Many other flowers can be seen when this photograph is full-size. Who knew that a fall display of color could be so profuse without a tree in sight?
Christine Caridi, Naperville Member Since August 2007 Artist Statement When I was a child, I remember playing a game which included pretending my eyes were cameras. Whenever I saw something I thought would make a nice picture, well of course I would just BLINK and take an imaginary photograph!
I love to create a mood or evoke an emotion with my art. When I look at a subject, I try to imagine how it will look within the limitations of the finite measurements of a photograph. Does the subject's intrigue lie in its balance or imbalance? Which colors evoke passion and which ones saddness? Many of these photographs were taken in autumn and are very colorful.
