Description After parking the car and getting the inner ear to figure out which was is up thanks to the winding roads into Piha, Lion Rock a volcanic formation is a site to see. The surrounding town seems to be a bit touristy and busy even in the off season, but the size of the beach allows for a sense of being alone to take in the size and beauty of the area. If you have time you can even climb part of Lion Rock for panoramic views of the surrounding area. The beach we walked on had a very fine and black colored sand that I had not seen before.
Jefferson Tweed Member Since February 2018 Artist Statement My wife and I love to travel and never really had a way to bring back great memories of our travel experiences. We are not really ones to collect physical things from the places we go as we enjoy being in the moment more than spending our time shopping for something remember our moments.
This lead me to start capturing images of the places we travel. Recent places included places within the US and abroad. I hope you enjoy some of the images and they either spark your imagination or help you recall a place you have traveled. Even better I hope it inspires you to go and explore the world.
