Description I took this photo on Sunday morning 3-8-2009, at 0652 hours, in Mesa, AZ, with an Olympus E-3, 10mp, 50-200mm ED SWD Lens, (Manual Mode) at 50mm, F2.8, 1/500 sec, ISO 100, Custom WB of 5425K, with a FL50R Flash with Diffuser. I shot in RAW, converted to TIFF, and tweaked slightly in CS3. As I blew bubbles into the wind, I took the photo with the black pavement in the background. The sunrise filled the bubble with color as the flash gave it some extra sparkle. If you look close enough, you can see my flash, me, my jacket and sleeves, the paved road, outline / shadows of the trees and houses, with the clouds showing through as the sun rises, in the reflection of the bubble.
Ed Bonkowski, Mesa Member Since September 2008 Artist Statement The duality of my life is intimately expressed through my photography. As a nineteen year veteran in the State of Arizona, I create a balance through constant and vigilant service to the community with my photography. Seeing the world through my lens, creates a captivating display of natures most treasured gifts and the choices we all can make to view our lives and it’s surroundings in this beautiful, original way. My spiritual conviction is nurtured by recognizing, “life is but a fleeting moment and when I am able to capture just a little bit with my mind's eye through the lens of my camera; share it’s striking beauty with the world, I am truly doing my job as a human being.”
