Music has always been a regular theme in my paintings. The flow of line and the expressiveness of colour are like rhythm and melodies. In a similar way to how the various strands of music blend together, I try to fit the composition within interlocking shapes to make something of harmony and beauty. I work from imagination to create my images, often simplifying shapes in order to bring out the underlying form of the instruments and the essence of the players. Apart from being an artist, I have also been a professional musician for a number of years, working in London. This gallery shows a variety of my paintings, from the serious to more light-hearted.
