Gallery Solitaire
Its a cathedral, this space all cream-colored walls and palest dilutegreen wainscoting and I am the only worshipper in this temple to the solitary, who look at the world in ways most never will, or can.
On these creamy walls hang visions, recorded first in neurons, then stored, and in the storing changed transformed by bit of dreams, words read long ago, spectres of people forgotten in the flesh, or simply by imagination.
The gaudy delights of a crisp October day draw the spirit and the eye away from contemplation. The urge to feel the gold of the sun on the head the breeze a tentative, exploratory caress on skin is irresistible.
The colors of the landscape, so soon to be extinguished by the blast of bitter winds, will not be denied or dismissed. The world roars by. I remain alone in this cathedral. 2011 RC deWinter
