Photographer: International Stereograph Co Location: Near Farmer City, IllOn October 6th, 1909, a head on collision, one dead, 25 injured, some seriously. The collision was between local No. 525, south bound from Chicago and a special state fair train from Springfield to Gilman.The regular train was pulled by Engineer Clark with Conductor Carpenter in charge.The special was pulled by Engineer McCue with Conductor Dockens in charge. The fault lies with this train, the Engineer misread his watch, and thought that he had 14 minutes more than he really had.The trains met on a curve west of Farmer City at 9:50 o'clock. Both engineers applied their brakes when the saw the collision coming. The regular train came to a stop an instant before the special, hit it, the special was still moving at full speed. Both engines were demolished, on the special, the combo baggage car/smoker, telescoped into the first day coach. Anyone in that car was basically crushed. The other coaches were unhurt. On the regular train a coach and smoker were destroyed. They had one steel car, it was new, and it was hardly damaged other then some dents on the back. If it were wood, it would have been destroyed. The locomotive on the left the 308, is a part of the ICRR, its a IC 'ten wheeler' 4-6-0. The one on the right is a Casey Jones 'American' 4-4-0 with a classic tapered boiler. You can see the wrecking trains behind each engine as they clear the tracks. Interestingly one person was killed, and she was not the engineer. The engineers survived because they jumped off, but both had serious leg and ankle injuries.

There are many themes, flowers, porches, and local Suburban Scenes, some city, some urban. I also have many Job inspired images that cover a quite a range. If your looking for a gift for your Pharmacist, Doctor, Dentist, Lawyer, Barber, Gardner, Fireman etc, there should be something there for you. These will look very nice hanging on your wall, or in a waiting room, even a hotel room. My art is inspired by Norman Rockwell and Paintings from the time of the Renaissance.
