Description I took this at Dungeness Beach, Kent, UK, a bleak but beautiful shingle beach on the South East Coast of England I was at the top of a high shingle bank which meant that I the opportunity to be at eye level with the bird and the English Channel provides the backdrop Take on my Canon 7D and the wonderful Canon 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 L lens at the 400mm end. Shutter speed was 1/1000s providing the freezing of the flight and a large aperture was chosen to provide the shallow depth of Field, giving an intentional blur and allowing the focus of attention to be the gull's eye
