Description I took this photograph of Woods Canyon Lake on Saturday 4-17-2010, at 1319 hours, with a Nikon D-700 12Mp D-SLR, with a 24-120mm Nikon Lens at 55mm, F 20, 1/160, ISO 320, at 5200 Degrees Kelvin, RAW 14 Bit. I opened in RAW, Recovery to 20, Fill to 10. I tweaked the photo in CS3, Levels (12/1.00/255), Curves (out 69 / in 27) and added a Vector Mask and brushed away 100 % of the Curves adjustment around the dark rock in the rear of the photo closest to the water. I used my Magic Wand, Tolerance 15 to mask the sky and added a Levels adjustment to (68/1.00/255), Saturated the entire pic to + 20 and used a Vector Mask to take 50 % of this adjustment away from the rocks on the right side across from the water. I sharpened to Highpass 1.5 and saved in layers.
Ed Bonkowski, Mesa Member Since September 2008 Artist Statement The duality of my life is intimately expressed through my photography. As a nineteen year veteran in the State of Arizona, I create a balance through constant and vigilant service to the community with my photography. Seeing the world through my lens, creates a captivating display of natures most treasured gifts and the choices we all can make to view our lives and it’s surroundings in this beautiful, original way. My spiritual conviction is nurtured by recognizing, “life is but a fleeting moment and when I am able to capture just a little bit with my mind's eye through the lens of my camera; share it’s striking beauty with the world, I am truly doing my job as a human being.”
