Description 36 x 36 Oil Painting on Canvas;Alpacas are domesticated camelid animals that originate from the Andes Mountains in South America, valued for its soft woolly fleece. They are believed to have been domesticated by the ancient civilizations of Peru over 6,000 years ago. Alpacas are closely related to llamas and are part of the camelid family. Rainbow Mountain, also known as Vinicunca, was discovered relatively recently, approximately a decade ago. It was initially found by intrepid hikers exploring the region. As they ventured through the breathtaking landscapes of Peru, they stumbled upon the awe-inspiring Rainbow Mountain, captivated by its extraordinary display of vibrant colors. The discovery quickly gained attention through social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook, rapidly spreading its fame and attracting visitors from around the world. For many, many years the mountain and all its colors were hidden under snow and the freeze of glaciers in the Peruvian mountains. It is only in recent years the global warming, as a result, a remarkable transformation occurred, revealing a vibrant and colorful mountain beneath the thawing ice.The colors of minerals: Pink-red clay; White:-sandstone and limestone; Red-iron; Green-ferromagnesian minerals and copper oxide; Purple-marlstone and silicates; Yellow-sulfur minerals; Brown-magnesium.

Artist Statement Lisa first started painting with color pencils at the age of 10, and she has always loved to paint ever since; it allows her to express feelings with a peaceful mind. Self-taught and self-developed in watercolor and ink painting, each of Lisa's painting is a journey to adventure. Lisa presently resides with her husband and their son in the State of Washington. She is a licensed architect, and currently works in an architecture firm, while continuing self study and painting on architecture and landscape subjects in watercolors.
